Know What Your Coworkers Really Think About You

When you do have some power, you can lose the sense of how you’re behaving and who you are, and you don’t want to do that. It’s dangerous.
Nothing’s more helpful than finding out how others see you. If you can conduct that exercise in an impersonal way, you have information you can’t get any other way.

Bosses Who Think They’re Supposed To Prevent Employee Screw Ups Are Not Motivating

Trust is an important thing. When running the company it’s best to take a following approach towards your employees; I have a lot of confidence in you, I have a lot of trust in you, we’re transparent — we share where we are, where we’re going and what’s going on.
If you think employees are there to mess up, and it’s your job to prevent them from messing up. That’s not going to be very motivating to good people.
